About

The Cafe

photo01Have you ever longed for a cafe with a thick, rich atmosphere where the vibrant colors, intriguing artwork and energy are contagious? If so, this is the place for you. These wonderful aspects are combined with fresh baked goods, fabulous food, artisan coffee, exotic loose leaf teas and fine wines to make the Mandolin Cafe a feast for the senses.

The Kitchen

photo02Our kitchen staff prepares fresh panini sandwiches, fun salads and homemade soups. In addition, we serve pasta, and several baked dishes. Save room for dessert, baked fresh daily, including scones, bars, cookies and cakes!

The Music

photo03The Puget Sound has some incredibly talented artists and the Mandolin Cafe is proud to host great live music almost every night of the week. We like to consider ourselves a venue where unknowns can become known. For the most part, the musicians volunteer their time. Help us help them by coming in and enjoying great Blues, Jazz, Folk, Celtic (and other genres) and dropping them a tip! Occasionally there will be a cover charge so click the calendar tab above to see specific details for our shows.

The Private Room

photo04Our art-filled private room seats 35. It is available for gatherings such as reunions, dinner parties or business meetings. The Coffee and Tea

photo06The Mandolin Cafe is proud to carry Batdorf & Bronson Coffee. Located in Olympia, WA, Batdorf & Bronson has made a name for themselves in quality coffee roasting since 1986.

For all those who love tea, you'll definitely appreciate our diverse loose leaf selection. We feature one of the best tea selections in Tacoma. The health benefits of tea are outstanding; the antioxidants and antibacterial properties have been found to enhance immune function in many ways. Tea is what the Tibetans call "the water of long life". Some of our most popular teas are Green Mango, Market Spice, Creamsicle, and Jasmine Pearls.
